Tempered Glass In Windows Next To Doors
If you have a window next to a door it may need to be tempered. Code requires glazing next to a door whose vertical edge is with in 24" arc of the door in a closed position to be tempered. However, this window must also be lower than 60" from the floor. The reasoning could be most people are not tall enough to be injured severely if the window is broken.
